Abstract: 'Heel Keverburg kookt' is een bijzonder prentenboek van twee gevierde prentenboekenmakers. Gouden Griffel-winnaar Bibi Dumon Tak en veelgeprezen knipkunstenaar Geertje Aalders sloegen de handen ineen om een ouderwets fijn en eigenwijs prentenboek te maken, vol prachtige kleine kriebelbeestjes. De tekst van Bibi Dumon Tak is weer net zo grappig, treffend en uniek als we van haar gewend zijn, en de beelden zijn door Geertje Aalders stuk voor stuk met de hand geknipt: van ieder voelsprietje tot elk glanzend vleugeltje. Echt waar! In Keverburg wonen honderden insectenfamilies. Elk jaar organiseren ze een enorme kookwedstrijd en dan is heel Keverburg een drukte van jewelste! Maar dit jaar willen de mestkevers niet meedoen; het is toch altijd hetzelfde liedje. De vlinders winnen met hun nectargerechten. De bijen worden altijd tweede, en de wespen, die hun eten stelen van de mensen, komen altijd op plek drie. En de mestkevers zelf? De jury wil hun culinaire hoogstandjes niet eens proeven! Terwijl hun poep-op-een-bedje-van-poep een eeuwenoud familierecept is! De mestkeverlarven vinden het maar jammer dat ze dit jaar niet meedoen aan het gedruis. Ook de oudste, wijze mestkever vindt dat ze het moeten blijven proberen. Dus gaan de mestkevers toch maar aan de slag. Zou het dit jaar anders zijn...?
