Abstract: In her picture book My Dad is Shrinking, author Ema Pongrasic focuses wittily on the theme of growing up, while at the same time, courageously tackles upon the "dangerous" issue of death. The main protagonist of the story is a little boy who describes the growth of the relationship with his father. The boy amusingly notices that, as he grows older and bigger, his father is getting older and smaller. The little one continues to analyse the shrinking of his Dad and starts thinking of his own future. He concludes that one day, when he would grow to be father himself, his father would become so tiny that he would disappear. However, there would be nothing tragic about it, as the father could then fit into boy's heart and remain there forever. All ilustrations were made digitaly on a portable tablet.
