Abstract: Mila è una ragazza di sedici anni che vive a Beirut. È ossessionata dal suo peso. Piccola, era piuttosto grassoccia e soffriva molto per le osservazioni dei suoi compagni. Essendo diventata una ragazzina, non smette mai di confrontarsi con le sue amiche che trova molto più magre di lei, soprattutto le ragazze in classe di ballo. Sua madre pensa anche che potrebbe mangiare in modo più sano e fare più esercizio. Ciò che inizia con una dieta e un po 'di sport molto rapidamente prende un'altra svolta e diventa ossessivo, è il cambio ... Il tempo in cui chi gli sta intorno si accorge che nulla è normale nel comportamento della ragazza, è troppo tardi. Mila è anoressica e la strada per uscire dalla malattia è estremamente lunga e difficile. Fatima Sharafeddine ha trovato il tono giusto per parlare delle complicate relazioni degli adolescenti con coloro che li circondano e del loro rapporto con i loro corpi, nonché della pressione generata dall'importanza di "apparire" nella società odierna. Riesce, senza annacquare la realtà ma anche senza pathos, a raccontare la storia di Mila e la catena di cose che iniziano con una semplice voglia di dimagrire. Si occupa anche di introdurre i social media, il mezzo di comunicazione preferito dagli adolescenti oggi, nella storia, il che aiuta a installare la storia nella vita quotidiana degli adolescenti. Il tema è interessante e ancora poco affrontato nella letteratura per ragazzi in lingua araba. Ed è un piacere immergersi in un testo ritmico, parzialmente vocalizzato, scritto in un linguaggio né troppo complesso né troppo semplificato, con una trama che tiene il lettore con il fiato sospeso.
